I found myself feeling a bit disappointed that I hadn’t started this book with a mindset of finality that it was meant. Three fourths of the way through this fast paced, edge of your seat read it dawned on me that the events unfolding were in fact staging the long awaited confrontation. I’ve only officially reviewed two of the now six books ( Crystal Storm, Frozen Tides). Alas, somehow I missed the memo that Immortal Reign would be the concluding installment in the Falling Kingdoms series as I’d first started reading this series long before my blog started. While, as the reader, you revel in the adventure that the author creates, knowing that you will be picking up last book can be bittersweet, while simultaneously building anticipation. There is always some measure of sadness when a beloved series comes to an end, similar to that of a long journey. ![]() ![]() ![]() Each painting can be completed in only 30 minutes and no expensive materials are necessary. The childhood world of Hugo Hamilton, born and brought up in Dublin, is a confused place. While multiple literary critics have paid huge attention to the figure of Ireland as mother-and, indeed, Ireland in other female roles (Old Woman, beautiful young queen, fabulous Sky Woman)-few have interrogated what dynamic father-son relationships "say" in stories, whether novels or plays, conscious of shifting political, social, and cultural realities in Ireland. Each text comes from a different historical moment, but each of these moments is distinguished by major change, a change so paradigm-shifting as to be worthy of the adjective millennial. She is a talented narrator, so that is just personal preference. I loved her "southern, North Carolina accent for Lucy, but would have preferred a bit more distinction between the male voices. I also bought the audio version of this book, narrated by Kristina Blackstone. I didn't miss the lack of sex scenes in the story, as the implied romantic interest/chemistry, between the main characters was written so well. The fact that there were no explicit sex scenes kept the story moving quickly and realistically. I liked how the author laid the groundwork to set up the reason for falling through time which I found to be very entertaining. In any time travel book, you have to start in one time, in this case the present, in order to travel to another time, frequently the past. ![]() 7/5/2023 0 Comments Breath winton![]() ![]() I would read it another 3 times that year before I eventually moved overseas. ![]() I had never before or ever since procured a book and read it as quickly as I did with Breath.
